Challenge

This project had several challenges that the metal framing contractor needed to address. Tall radius curtain walls, numerous large window openings, many of which were arched windows, as well as large gable roof systems complete with multiple dormers all framed in LGMF.

Solution

Due to the wide range of products offered by Dietrich, along with our engineering staff being familiar with the many options we have to work with, we were able to cost effectively accommodate the design criteria on the project. This included utilizing several different flange sizes (1 5/8", 2", 3") on the tall radius curtain walls to help meet the wind load and deflection criteria required and still accommodate the six inch web size requested.

Benefit

Due to the team effort during the design portion of this project as well as throughout the course of the job the contractor was able to meet the job requirements cost effectively and remain on schedule.
