Challenge
This project called for Aegis steel trusses supported by load bearing walls framed with Dietrich Industries LGMF. Due to the substantial size of the window openings this design would typically call for large built-up headers to handle the considerable wind and axial loads involved. Obviously this design was very expensive in material and labor costs, until recently.
Solution
We suggested Dietrich Trade Ready Headers. With the use of Trade Ready Headers over the window openings we could minimize, if not eliminate the need for built-up header framing previously required on similar projects. Sabbagh Associates incorporated the Trade Ready Headers into the stamped shop drawings and design calculations.
Benefit
GDS Contracting Corporation was able to realize substantial savings on material and labor costs. A major reduction in steel framing required at window openings, sometimes reducing headers to a single track, played a significant role in making this project a winner for GDS Contracting Corporation.
